Donna M. Meyer, 67, of Chester, passed away with her family around her at home on Friday, November 4, 2011. Through hardships and struggles she never gave up and taught her children to do the same. Through the struggles of life the happiest times were with her children, grandchildren and great grandson.
Donna was born January 10, 1944 in the Bronx, NY, the daughter of John F. and Mary J. (Cunningham) Bila. She married William J. Meyer in 1964 and moved to Chester in 1969.
Donna retired as secretary for the Town Of Chester Highway Dept., Secretary of Highway Superintendent Association of Orange County; member of St. Columba Church and the ladies auxiliary as well as a religion teacher for many years. She was a volunteer in many organizations in the community of Chester; and was a Hambletonian Red Hatter.
She is survived by her 4 children, William J. Meyer III and wife Gina of Pine Bush, Kim M. Lodico and husband Ron of Chester, Keith J. Meyer and wife Bridget of Circleville, and Kerri J. Woznick and husband William of New Hampton; 8 grandchildren, Alicia, Ronnie, Rachel, John, Rileigh, Colin, Courtney and Andrew; 1 great grandson, Ryan; sisters-in-law, Virginia Butts of Chester, Constance McIntyre and husband, James of New Jersey and many loved nieces and nephews.
Donna was predeceased by her husband William J. Meyer; parents and brother, Ricky.
Visitation will be Monday, November 7 from 2-4 PM & 6-9 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, November 8 at 10:00 am at St. Columba R. C. Church, 27 High St, Chester, NY.
Burial will follow in Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Donna's name to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook, Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
