Obituary of Michael James Sasso

Michael James Sasso, 95, of Goshen, NY entered into rest, Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Elant At Goshen in Goshen, NY.
Born July 29, 1912 in the Bronx, NY, the son of John James and Pasqualina (Cassiello) Sasso.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945 during World War II; married Laura Louise Vivo on April 25, 1948 and retired after 45 years in the Bronx, NY as a butcher. He lived in New Rochelle, NY and later moved to Goshen, where he lived for 20 years. Michael was a member of the Sons of Italy and the VFW Goshen Post 377.
He is survived by his 2 sons, Michael Sasso and wife Donna of Purchase, NY and John Sasso and wife Eileen of Manchester, NH; daughter, Stephanie Sasso of Goshen; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and his niece Barbara de Dufour. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Laura; daughter, Patricia Lukowiak and sisters, Marion Manno and Rose Sasso.
Dad shared his memories with us of walking his dog Tonto throughout the village. He fondly remembered the merchants and local familiar faces along his travels. We would like to thank the Staff at Arden Hill Hospital, Elant, Village Police, Goshen Fire Dept and GOVAC for being of assistance to our dad.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 21, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, May 22 at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Murray Ave, Goshen.
Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla.
