Dear Lynn and Family,
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Edith. She was a warm and caring lady and made my job at Elant at Goshen fun, in her own special way. One of my closest memories of your mom was when I would work on Paff 4 during the overnight shift and I would come in with morning medication and she would smile and say "Hey, Buddy....don't you know its almost 7 o'clock. shouldn't you be worried about getting home and not bringing me all these pills?!" She always put everyone else first in her life. She would constantly tell me stories of growing up, and cooking for a large number of people in her house, or show me the latest pictures of the grandchildren...and finally great grandchildren. Although she never called me girlfriend like all the other staff, (thank goodness,) I was always her "buddy" and she was always mine. Leaving Elant last August and leaving wonderful residents such as your mom has been one of the hardest decisions I have had to make. Edith was always very supportive of my decision to make funeral services my profession. She would always crack a joke about it or ask a question if one should arise. Unfortunately for me, Edith passed just 4 days prior to my dream becoming a reality. I am unable to attend services, as I am in Albany preparing for graduation on Saturday. Please know that Edith, and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love always,
Tyler Z. Murtie
