Obituary of Petronella Pittner

Petronella Nel Pittner, 91, of Goshen died Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY. Nel was born February 14, 1916 in Bergen, Holland, the daughter of Hendrikus and Cornelia (Kuiper) Leyen. She was the widow of Karl F. Pittner. Nel was a devoted and loving wife and mother, she was 55 year area resident, she loved to sew and to cook; she was a 4-H Leader and a meals-on-wheels volunteer. Nel is survived by her 3 sons, Henry J. Pittner and wife Kathleen of Ulster Park, NY, Karl M. Pittner and wife MaryAnn of Syracuse, NY, and Hans C. Pittner of Goshen, NY; 3 daughters, Margaret Nelson and husband Edward of San Jose, CA, Lia Aylward and husband Dennis of Levittown, NY and Elly Davis and husband Charles of Montgomery, NY; brother, Henry Leyen and wife Tina of Holland; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Karl in August 16, 1997, 7 brothers and sisters and by a grandchild Bradley Davis. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2007 from 4-7 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 28, at 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Murray Ave., Goshen. Interment will follow in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen.
