Obituary of Evelyn Wallach

Evelyn Wallach was born in Warrenton North Carolina. She was one of five children born to Mary and Philip Friedenberg. She spent her childhood in Richmond, VA, and Baltimore, MD. On July 15, 1951, at the age of 26, she married Nathaniel Wallach. They began their married life in Brooklyn, NY, and then settled in Orangeburg, N.Y. Evelyn worked as a secretary in the New York School system, and prior to that she was a Real Estate Agent. Upon retirement she and Nathaniel moved to Cedar Crest, an adult community, in Pompton Plains, N.J, whereupon Evelyn continued an active social life. At the time of her death she and Nathaniel had been married for 56 years.
Evelyn was an avid writer who honed her skills over many years. She was a member of many poetry groups, and ultimately founded her own group at Cedar Crest Village. She was very proud of her work and has published a number of her poems. Evelyn was also passionate about inspiring the work of others both young and old.. She was very interested in her familys lives and put them above all else, no matter what was going on in her own life. Evelyn always encouraged members of her family to reach their dreams and supported them in any way she could.
Evelyn had been battling pancreatic cancer for the past two years, before she succumbed November 17, 2007. True to character, she loved life, and fought this dreadful disease up until the end. She was a strong woman who provided benevolent and caring leadership to her whole family.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Nathaniel Wallach, her three children: Daniel M. Wallach, Jeffery P. Wallach, and Pamela A. Conjura. She is survived by her older brother Morton, along with numerous other nieces and nephews. She also has several grandchildren including Jeremy and, Jillian Conjura, Kimberly and Christopher Conjura Richard and Michael Wallach, Neeil Pacheco and Jay DuBois. Two Great Grandchildren, Courtney and Jaimie DuBois- Christensen also survive her.
Services will be held at the Temple Beth Shalom, 13 Roosevelt Ave, Florida N.Y. on Tuesday November 20,2007 at 11:3 A.M with Rabbi Rebecca Shinder officiating. The internment will be held at Temple Beth Cemetery Florida, N.Y. immediately following the Temple service.
