WALTER JOSEPH ROEDER, JR. March 25, 1934 - August 5, 2015 Campbell Hall, NY Walter Joseph Roeder, Jr., 81, of Campbell Hall, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at home, with family. Walter was born March 25, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Walter Joseph Roeder, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Mary (Guthy) Roeder. Walter served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Washingtonville. Walter owned and operated W.J. Roeder Hardwood Flooring Company for over 45 years. He was recognized and respected as a no-nonsense New York State High School Athletic Association and ASA Softball umpire for almost 40 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Grace E. Roeder and ten children: Dr. Dolores Ann, Roeder Palmer and husband, Walter of Otisville, NY, Valerie Jean Morrison and husband, Scott of Lake Villa, IL, Jennifer Marie Mullins and husband, David of Port Hayward, VA, Dr. Victoria Joy Roeder and husband, Arthur Telfeian of Cream Ridge, NJ, Gerard Patrick Roeder and wife, Kimberly of East Long Meadow, MA, Mary Elizabeth Farrell and husband, Raymond of Middletown, NY, Lt. Col. Brian Christopher Roeder U.S. Army and wife, Carolyn of Fort Polk, LA, Theresa Rose Sommers and husband, Rick of Terrell,TX, Megan Alice Sciarra and husband, Anthony of Monroe, NY, SSG Andrew Dennis Roeder U.S. Army of Fort Campbell, KY. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren: Michael Morrison and wife, Chelcie, Tyler and Kaleigh Morrison, Grace and Kathryn Roeder, Rebecca and Blaise Mullins, Ricky and Rachel Sommers, Callum, Owen and Derek Farrell, Milania and Seraphina Sciarra and Emma Roeder. Walter was predeceased by his parents and brother, Robert Roeder of Maywood, NJ. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, August 9th at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, August 10th at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave., Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen.
