I would like to offer my condolences to the O'Connor family and friends. Although I do not know your family personally, I would like to share an encouraging thought from the Bible. Revelation 21:3, 4 tells us that "God...will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more...". This is a real hope promised by God to reunite us with our dead loved ones. May this wonderful promise and your pleasant memories of Lucas' life sooth your heartache until that coming day.

I am so sorry about the tragic loss of your beautiful son. I did not know him but I have read the articles regarding the accident and all of the various things that people have said about him and it is obvious the impact that he has had on others and that he cares for both people and animals. It sounds like he had heart of gold. The obituary that you wrote suggested to honor Luke by becoming an organ donor. As an RN I call tell you firsthand the tremendous impact that this will have on others. A donated organ not only benefits the recipient but their family and friends as well. And that circle continues to broaden. Your wonderful son helped others in life, he cared for those around him, volunteered his time to help animals and as a scout he devoted his time to his community as well. And now in death he is doing more than helping others he is SAVING others by giving a part of himself so they can live. That's a hero!! There is positives coming out of something so tragic. Your hearts are filled with love for Luke and your minds are filled with 16 years of happy memories and nothing takes that away from you. I hope that you will find some peace knowing that Luke is living on in others. God bless you for your strength. My deepest sympathies and prayers are with your entire family.

We are so sad to hear of Luke's passing. He was an outstanding and valued member of the Science Olympiad team. We will miss his knowledge and smile during practices. His intensity and determination was an inspiration to his teammates and coaches.
