Thomas P. LaGrutta, 60, of Campbell Hall, passed away Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at
Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh, NY.
Thomas was born March 12, 1954 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Dominic and Carmen (Cuomo) LaGrutta. Tom attended St. John's Grammar School in Goshen, and was a graduate of John S. Burke Catholic High School. He graduated from SUNY Oneonta, where he played Baseball. He was an avid sports fan and routed for the NY Mets, Giants and Knicks. He was a member and lector at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, and was a board member of the Goshen Ecumenical Food Pantry where he was still active.
He is survived by his wife: Jeanette (Jan) LaGrutta at home; sons, James LaGrutta of Campbell Hall and Robert LaGrutta of Goshen; brothers, Anthony LaGrutta and wife Maria of Yardley, PA and Fr. George LaGrutta of St. Anthony of Padua in Yulan, NY; sisters, Christine McLean and husband George of Owego, NY, Ann Carpentieri of Campbell Hall, and Theresa Einterz and husband Robert of Campbell Hall; many aunts, uncles, cousins, neces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews; as well as many friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 16 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 am on Monday, November 17, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY.
Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
