Obituary of William H. Evers

William Henry Evers March 14, 1930 - October 30, 2014 Goshen, NY William H. Evers of Goshen passed away peacefully at home on October 30, 2014. He was 84 years old. Bill was much loved by all who knew him and will be missed terribly. His family was at his side when he passed. Surviving him are his daughter, June, and her husband, Jim, of Goshen and his son, Charles, and his wife, Melanie, of Hoboken. Bill was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1930 and from the beginning was extremely intelligent with a thirst for knowledge. He held a multitude of academic degrees including a B.S. in electrical engineering from Cooper Union, M.S. in industrial engineering from NYU, M.S. in applied mathematics from NYU and a PHD in stochastic modeling from University of Michigan. A United States Navy veteran, Bill served during the last year of the Korean War in intelligence operations in Washington D.C.. It was during this tenure that he met his wife, Helen Evers. He was also a lover of the finer things in life including travel, wine and gourmet dining at fine restaurants locally and around the world. Bill and Helen frequently enjoyed a meal at Catherine's restaurant in Goshen. We will always miss him and feel comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain after a long battle with cancer. A service will take place at the Veteran's cemetery in Goshen, NY at 2pm on Monday, November 3, 2014.
