OUR SINCERE CONDOLENCE ON THE PASSING OF YOUR MOTHER, OUR SISTER, SHIRLEY.
AS QUEEN OF THE RED HAT TOMALES, SHIRLEY, WAS FORMERLY THE VICE QUEEN, BUT DECIDED TO STEP DOWN TO BECOME OUR "SUNSHINE GIRL", SENDING OUT OUR BIRTHDAY AND GET WELL CARDS. HOW APPROPRIATE, AS SHE WAS FULL OF SUNSHINE HERSELF ! SHIRLEY WAS OUR SISTER & FRIEND, AND NOT ONE PERSON HAD A HARSH THING TO SAY ABOUT HER, NOR DID SHE SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ANYONE ELSE. SHE WAS A WOMAN WE ALL ADMIRED, AND LOVED TO BE WITH. WE ADMIRED HER STRENGTH, TO LOSE 100 LBS.; HER STRENGTH TO LIVE WITH ALL HER DISABILITIES AND NEVER COMPLAIN; HER ZEST FOR LIFE & FUN TO NAME A FEW. SHIRLEY WAS THE FIRST ONE ON LINE TO BOWL WITH OUR RED HATS, AND INVARIABLY GOT THE HIGHEST SCORE. SHE WAS SO HAPPY & PROUD, AND WE ALL HAD SO MUCH FUN SHARING HER JOY. SHE WAS A TROUPER!! WE ALL WENT MINIATURE GOLFING ONE DAY, AND THOUGH SHIRLEY COULDN'T GOLF, SHE TRUDGED ALONG KEEPING SCORE AND LAUGHING, AND NEVER COMPLAINING ABOUT THE UNEVEN GROUND OR STEPS. WHAT A GAL! WE ALL LOVED HER, ENJOYED HER COMPANY, AND SHE WILL BE SORELY MISSED. HOW LUCKY FOR YOUR FAMILY TO HAVE HAD HER LOVE FOR 79 YEARS. SHE WILL BE IN ALL OUR HEARTS FOREVER.....
LOVE,
THE RED HAT TOMALES

Shirley was quite a gal, I fist got to know her when the family had the restaurant in Goshen and then out to Orange Farm working with her in the kitchen. Shirley and my wife Harriet were good friends and co-workers too and now are together again. Condolences to the family in your time of sorrow, I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. I met Shirley at Curves in Chester, she never complained but worked out on the machines with a smile. We always told her how nice she looked and she would say Oh! I got this from QVC, I think she was a serious shopper.Such a sweet lady who will be missed. Sincere sympathy to her family.
