Malfrid Fossli, 82, Campbell Hall, NY entered into eternal rest on December 11, 2013. She was born February 14, 1931 in the small Norway Town of Hynnekleiv. Malfrid is predeceased by her parents, mother, Oline (Vimme) Hagen, father, Johan Hagen, and brothers: Harry Hagen I, Harry Hagen II, Ole Johnny Hagen, and sister, Laila Hagen.
She is survived by and was a devoted wife to Reidar Fossli, to whom she was married for over 50 years.
She is also survived by her daughter, Ruth (Hans) Gunnarson of Kongsberg, Norway; sons: Jan Johansen of Campbell Hall, NY, Ole (Jeannine) Johansen of West Harrison, NY, Arnold (Karen) Fossli of Yorktown, NY; sister, Olaug Jorunn (Bjorn) Nygard of Kongsberg, NO; brother, Birger (Aste) Hagen of Notodden, NO and her grandchildren who lovingly knew her as Nanna: Melissa, Stephan, Joakim, Axel, Amanda, Danny, Kimberly, Erik, Kristina, Michael, Alyssa, Jennie Marie, and Nikolas.
Malfrid reveled in the accomplishments of her four children and her 12 grandchildren. She shared her passion of knitting and cooking with her daughter, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. The Christmas season was her favorite time of year, when the house would be filled with decorations and the smells of cookies and cakes. Recently she enjoyed social networking with family members and friends around the world.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, December 17th at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. The Funeral will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18th. She will be remembered with Rosary and Mass at St. James Episcopal Church, 1 St. James Place, Goshen, NY with Father Carl Lunden officiating.
