Richard J. Carroll, of Goshen, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 20, 2013. He was 48.
Richie, the son of Richard and Lucille Carroll, was born January 15, 1965, in Middletown, NY.
He is a graduate of Middletown High School, class of 1983. He adored his three girls and was very proud of them. Richie was an employee for Wallace Oil Company as a serviced technician and installer for 20 years. He was a valued employee for his excellent work ethic and outgoing personality. He enjoyed spending many summer vacations in Wildwood, NJ with his family. Richie was a die-hard race fan, with a passion for NASCAR. He traveled to many tracks with his brother, Mike, and his racing family from Pennsylvania, cheering on Dale Sr. and Jr. and Danica Patrick. He had a heart of gold, always willing to help anyone in need. Richie was a volunteer firefighter since the age of 16. He is an honorary member of City of Middletown Ontario's, was a member of Howells Fire Company, New Hampton Fire Company, past Chief of The Pocatello Fire Company and most recently a member of the Minisink Hook & Ladder Company of Goshen. He will be sadly and forever missed.
He is survived by his three daughters: Ashley, Amber-Elizabeth and Rachel Carroll, all of Middletown; his parents: Richard and Lucille Carroll of Middletown; brother, Michael Carroll and wife, Katherine of Slate Hill; sister, Theresa Carroll and nephew, Matthew Fredericks of Slate Hill; brother-in-law, Patrick Fredericks of Beacon, NY, and aunt, Agnes Cavalari and husband, Alfred of New Windsor. He was predeceased by his uncle, John Jasinski and best friend, Mark Robinson.
Memorial Visitation will be Tuesday, March 26th, from 10 to 12 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY, with the funeral service in the funeral home at 12 p.m., with Pastor Jeffrey Farley.
A luncheon will immediately follow at the Minisink Hook & Ladder Company located at 99 South Church Street in Goshen, NY, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Richie's life.

To know him was to love him, and there will not be a day that goes by that we will not miss him.
