Joseph F. Amodio, 85, of Maybrook died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at home in Maybrook.
Joseph was born February 24, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY, the son of Rosario and Rosenia (Vano) Amodio. He was the widower of Constance I. Amodio and Barbara Amodio. Joseph was a U.S. World War II Navy veteran and after returning from service became a fireman for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad, Warwick, NY. He was a member of the VFW of Maybrook, Post 2064, past Village of Maybrook Police Officer and volunteer Maybrook Fire Department.
He is survived by his son, Paul J. Amodio and wife Ellen of Goshen; daughter, Gloria Jean Geyer of Newburgh, and step-daughter, Michelle Stohner of Newburgh; brothers, Frank Amodio and wife Ann of Montgomery and Johnny Amodio of Maybrook; 8 grandchildren, Paul, James, Stephanie, Julie, Joey, Ryan, Billy and Matt; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, wives, Constance and Barbara and 2 sisters, Mamie Barletta and Gloria Smith.
A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, January 19 at10:00 am at Church of The Assumption, Homestead Ave., Maybrook, NY.
Burial will be in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden at a later date.
