Very sorry, Tom, to hear of your dad's passing -- I remember walking past your house on Carpenter Avenue so many times, to and from school, sometimes seeing him or your mom. I don't know if we ever spoke, but when another member of the Greatest Generation goes, it's a loss for us all. Peace, Nuala

I can offer no memories of Mr, Thomas J. Byrnes but am deeply saddened at his passing. The loss of any of cousins of my father, John Edward Byrnes and my grandfather, Thomas Paul Byrnes, son of Edward Byrnes and Ann Malone is a great loss to me as I have actually met very few of these relatives. I think his sister, Marie, may have visited with my family in Princess Ann County, VA., at the beach in the 1930s. Till I met Thomas Patrick, I knew little of the rest of the New York relatives. I was an only child and really mourn not knowing them. May God send you all solice in your grief. Joan Byrnes Wright.

Tom, Maeve and the Byrnes Family: So sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. Having recently gone through this with the loss of my dad I know how difficult it is. I think we can find comfort in knowing they had a long happy life and we were able to share that with them. Unfortunately we did not find out about your dad's passing until after the services.
