Francis Gunn, age 91, of Campbell Hall, NY died Sunday, July 24, 2011 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus of Goshen, NY. Francis was born August 16, 1919 in Poughkeepsie, NY, the son of the late Joseph and the late Cora (Dusenberrie) Gunn. He was the widower of his beloved wife Dorothy. Francis served in the Army during World War II. He was a radio operator and received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He was a house painter be trade. He was the resident council at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center in Campbell Hall He is survived by his step son, William Richmond of Marlboro, NY; brother, Joseph Gunn of Pawley's Island, SC; nieces, Kathy Duncan and companion John Elder of Murrells Inlet, SC and Diane Foglia and husband Jack of Murrells Inlet, SC; nephews, James Gunn and wife Cheryl of Pawley's Island, SC and Karl Gunn and wife Cathy of Cross Hill, SC. He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy and brother, John R. Gunn. Services will be private. Cremation will be at Cedar Hill Crematory, Newburgh. In lieu of flowers, donations many be made to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12550 or the American Cancer Society. Arrangements under the care of the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., Goshen. (845) 294-6422. .
