David T. Schoeneberger, 66, of Rock Hill died Monday, April 11, 2011 at Catskill Regional Medical Center, Harris, NY.
Born October 18, 1944 in Middletown, NY, the son of Lorraine Collins Schoeneberger and the late Theodore Schoeneberger.
David served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he was self-employed as a Title Insurance Agent, past captain of Mechanicstown Fire Company, Middletown, NY, past President and Recording Secretary of the Dikeman Engine & Hose Co. #3 (40-year member), Goshen, NY, member of the Rock Hill Fire Dept., Rock Hill, NY, past President and Treasurer of the White Oak Hunting Club and Blue Stone Quarry Road Hunting Club, both of Cuddebackville, NY, past President and Treasurer of the Wanaksink Lake Sportsman's Club, member of the Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs of Sullivan County, past Treasurer of the Al Turi Memorial Golf League, and member of the Sullivan County Golf League.
He is survived by: his son, Jacob Schoeneberger and wife Denise of Cicero, NY; his mother Lorraine Schoeneberger of Middletown; his companion, Kathy Mitchell of Rock Hill; his brother, Richard Schoeneberger and companion Linda Reese of Middletown; his sisters, Margaret Burlingame of Middletown, Elaine Carey and husband Michael of Howells, NY and Julia Anne Schoeneberger and companion Richard Plant of Middletown; his ex-wife, Mary Petak and husband Gregory of Middletown, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY, with a Service at 7:15 p.m.
A Service with Military Honors and Burial will be held at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen, to be scheduled at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David's name to the Wanaksink Lake Sportsman's Club (for a scholarship for a youth to study at the Department of Environmental Conservation).
