Obituary of Maria Ferrante
Please share a memory of Maria to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Maria Ferrante, 98, of Goshen, passed on Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Orange Regional Medical Center-Arden Hill Campus, Goshen, NY.
Maria was born June 8, 1912 in Ripi Italy, the daughter of Vincenzo and Santo Conciatori.
On March 14, 1935, she married Angelo Ferrante who predeceased her in 1976. She lived in Velettri, Italy till 1962 when she emigrated to the U.S. She worked for a time for Farberware Company. Mostly she was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. Maria taught us that old age can be a time of great pleasure especially if you can accept the physical limitations which accompany aging. She aged very gracefully still making her homemade pasta and bread right until the end. She was predeceased by 3 brothers and 4 sisters and a granddaughter Anna Rubino.
Maria is survived by her loving sons, Alvaro and wife Eleanor of Goshen, Mario and wife Grace of Rye Brook; her daughters, Rose Romeo and husband Emilio of Queens and Linda Colucci and husband Gino of Italy; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one great, great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Thursday, March 17 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, the Bronx on Thursday, March 17 at 12:45pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Maria's name to Columbia University Pediatric Ortho Research Fund, Suite 800 North 3959 Broadway, New York, NY 10032 or a charity of ones choice.
