Frances V. Turi, 90, of Goshen died Monday, October 25, 2010 at Elant at Goshen in Goshen, NY.
Frances was born September 1, 1920 in Carbondale, PA, the daughter of Louis and Josephine (Muto) Levite. She was the widow of Alfred R. Turi, Sr.
Frances was a member of the Orange County Human Rights Commission, Board Member of the Orange County Cerebal Palsey Association (now Inspire), former long term President of the Goshen Seniors Club, she was instrumental in making the Goshen Senior Citizen Housing a reality, member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a long time member of the Goshen Republican Committee.
She is survived by her children, Alfred R. Turi, Jr. and wife Marilyn of Goshen, Margaret Ann Shanley and husband Francis of Goshen, Kathy Knight and husband Gary of New Port Richey, FL, and Michael A. Turi and wife Susan of Montgomery, NY; grandchildren, Patrick Turi, Colleen DiVito, Mark Knight, Ryan Knight, Scott Turi, Brett Turi, Kevin Shanley, Nicolas Turi, Alison and Ashley DePasquale ; 4 great grandchildren, Dominick and Anthony DiVito and Connor and Drew Knight; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 brothers, Patrick Levite, Anthony Levite and Frank Levite and one sister, Carmela Sirianni.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 28 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30 am on Friday, October 29 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen,, NY.
Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Goshen, NY.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Frances' name to the Goshen Ecumenical Pantry, Inc., 33 Park Place, Goshen, NY.
