Thomas J.V. Cullen Jr. May 13, 1924- September 16, 2010 Goshen, NY Thomas J.V. Cullen Jr., a longtime resident of Goshen, New York died on Thursday September 16, 2010 at his home in Goshen. He was 86 years old. Born in Chester New York on May 13, 1924 he was the son of Thomas J.V. Cullen and Mary McCormick Cullen. He was married to Elaine Degan Cullen, his wife of 58 years. Tom was a graduate of Garr Hall in Goshen and received his bachelor's degree from St. Bonaventure University, the Class of 1949. Tom was a veteran of World War II where he served as a master Sergeant/Ball turret gunner. He flew thirty seven combat missions and he was based in Foggia ,Italy. He was the owner of the TJV Cullen Insurance Agency, in Goshen. Tom was a former trustee of the Goshen Historic Track and an avid horseman. He was a licensed amateur harness driver for many years. He was a longtime member of the Goshen and Orange County Democratic Committees, being honored in 1999 as Democrat of the Year. Tom was a member of St John the Evangelist Church and was a member of the Catholic War Veterans. Survivors include his children: Thomas J.V. Cullen of New Orleans, LA Michael L. Cullen and his wife Norma Brady Cullen of Lilburn, GA Brian C. Cullen and his wife Lisa Papandrea Cullen of Herndon, VA Hillary Cullen of New York, NY His sister Mary Rose Cullen Grandchildren: Mary C. Hoens, Megan C. Meland, Brooke A. Cullen, Jane V. Cullen, Thomas JV Cullen IV, Caitlin R. Cullen, Edward T. Cullen, Alec W. Cullen, Sarah D. Cullen, Matthew N. Cullen, Kieron J. Cullen, Maeve M. Cullen, Patrick H. Cullen, Briana M. Cullen, Great Grandson, Kellen, Hoens and 43 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Elaine D Cullen, his sister's Suzanne Cullen Harris and Cathleen Cullen Tonjes, his brother Richard M. Cullen and his grandson Kevin G. Cullen Jr. Visitation will be Sunday September 19, 2010 at 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church Street Goshen NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am on Monday September 20, 2010 at St John the Evangelist in Goshen. Burial will follow at St Columba Cemetery, in Chester NY.
