From your grandson Brandon,
There are so few words to properly describe my grandfather but so many words that come to mind. He was a magnetic personality, a man that was emotional but easy-going, loving, caring, and passionate. There are so many pieces of me that I wouldn’t have it if weren’t for grandpa. I wouldn’t know how to (mostly) drive a manual, how to make a phenomenal hamburger, and how to finish my damn plate at dinner! Grandpa loved his morning paper and I remember the countless times he would circle something he thought I’d like, or cut out any time I was in the hometown paper, the simple things sometimes silly but looking back it meant a lot to me. He learned the ins and outs of soccer (loosely) just so we could talk about it and he could better appreciate watching me play. He would do everything in his power to understand my science jargon… I can go on forever about the little things but I can never truly put into words what that man means to me. He built a family that I’ll be forever thankful to have, he inspired a generation of Jets fans that I will never abandon, and he gave every bit of the love he had to those in his life. I love you grandpa.

Uncle John always made me feel so welcome to the family from when I first started dating Ian and met the family 22 years ago. One time, the whole family met up at Keansburg boardwalk for Easter and I see him coming up to me to give me a hug. With a big smile, he looked at me and said “Happy Hanukkah” - I was raised Jewish so I technically didn’t “celebrate” Easter. I started cracking up and had to tell him Hanukkah was in December but I loved the effort. It meant a lot that he always tried to include me. He really was one of a kind and I will miss him dearly.

I will forever remember John as the dad who welcomed me into the Adam home as if I was one of his own. He and Kathy always treated their children’s friends with love and each of us knew we could reach out to them anytime if we needed anything. John and I had our arguments… over the Jets of course! He loved them, I hated them! But despite our differences, and the many years that have passed, John (and Kathy) have always held a special place in my heart. To know him was to love him. Till we meet again!

When Kathy was dating John, he would frequently hang out at our place, sometimes sitting or laying on the floor. When someone would come home, our dog would get so excited that she would pee. Mom kept newspapers on the floor by the door for that purpose.. One time someone came home and John was laying on the floor. The dog ran to the door, only the pee came out as she jumped over John. He was a tad upset but we were hysterical.

Grandpa, I can’t even believe you are gone it doesn’t even feel right saying that. You are the most amazing person I have ever met. You have always been there for me and oh what a silly man you were. You never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face. You could make anyone laugh and you lit up a room when you walked in. I will never forget our inside jokes and our dance parties or anytime we said anything your response was “I have a song for that” - then you would break out into a song. I will never forget you drumming on the counter with anything, it could’ve been squash or forks. You were the best cook ever and always made sure I had enough to eat. I’m so glad that we both shared a love for Mac and cheese and we got to make the most amazing Mac and cheese together. Thank you for introducing me to those Irish ginger ales which I take to work everyday and you always made sure I had one to bring to work and if we were out you would run to the store to make sure that I always had one. My favorite thing about us is many years ago when I needed to take a shower I came over to your side to ask for permission and we had food in our mouths so I started to rub my belly and head in hopes you would know I was asking to take a shower (which you didn’t - then you asked me what in the world are you doing?) that started something with us and from there on out every time you or me needed to shower we would do the motions and just laugh so hard. Grandpa you fought for so long and you fought so hard and now you are finally free. I hope heaven is the most beautiful place you have ever been too. I hope you are cracking a cold beer right now. I love you more than words can describe. I miss you.
Love, your favorite granddaughter Kaitlyn

Grandpa was my built in best friend we talked about sports and every sunday when the giants played he either sent a text or called depending on weather the jets lost or won. Grandpa gave me all his baseball cards and signed jets cards and I will never forget talking about how much we hated tom brady. He was hands down the funniest person I have ever spoken too and I will never forget his jokes and his genuine sense of humor grandpa was truly the man. I will always love you forever.
Love your favorite grandson❤️

Also that he wear a Jets tie to annoy my dad at my wedding. He was so loving and so sweet to everyone.
