Obituary of Patrick J. Foley

Patrick J. Foley, 76, of Hamptonburgh, NY, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, after a brief illness. Patrick was born April 1, 1946 in the Bronx, NY and graduated Mount Saint Michael high school in 1964. After high school, he served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1968. In 1983 Patrick opened A&F Tire and Battery in Goshen, NY and quickly became an active member of the community. He participated in numerous community organizations, including the Goshen Rotary Club, in which he served as President. He was also a past chairman of the Hamptonburgh Zoning Board of Appeals and the treasurer of the Hamptonburgh Republican committee. Patrick loved golf, skiing, reading, and completing crossword puzzles. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Foley of Hamptonburgh; his children Shawn Foley (Kathleen), Kelley Foley (Dan Kelley); and his grandchildren: Carolyn, Jack, and Kayla Foley, and Jane and Anne Kelley. In addition, he is survived by his sisters Kathleen Foley, Mary Vaccaro, and Theresa Wile, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Catherine Foley, and his sister Margaret Liston. Visitation will be Monday, March 6 from 2 to 4 PM & 7 to 9 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY. A Mass of Christian burial to Celebrate his life will be held 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY. Burial will follow in the Orange County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the ALS association, the Goshen Humane Society, or The Candle Lighters (https://www.thecandlelighters.org/in-memory-of-patrick-j-foley), which provides therapeutic, educational, and emotional support to children with Down Syndrome.
