Obituary of Gennaro Boniello

Gennaro Boniello, age 76, of Hamptonburgh, entered into rest Thursday, February 11, 2021, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Gennaro was born March 23, 1944 in San Giorgio, Italy. He is the son of the late Gerardo and the late Flavia Boniello. He came to the United States as a young boy and lived in the Bronx. He was a member of the US Army from 1965-1967, achieving the rank of an E5. After completing his tour in Alaska, he joined the Local 445 Union, as a truck driver. In 1975, he married his love, Joy. They were together, until her death in 2018. He retired from TAM Enterprises, in December of 2020, after 20 years. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, watching old western movies, soccer games and more recently, day trips to the campground.
He is survived by his three children: Monique Crescimanno and her husband Anthony, Yvette Boniello and Jason Boniello; his four grandchildren: Savanna, whom he raised, Ariella, Harley and Karina; his sister, Antoinette and his brother, Guido.
Visitation will be Sunday, February 14 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
The funeral service will be held 10:30 AM on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Donovan Funeral Home, 82 South Church St., Goshen, NY. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Gennaro's name, to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or a local Veteran's charity.
