Obituary of Andrew P. Levendos
Please share a memory of Andrew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Levendos, Andrew Patrick, 49, formerly of Goshen, NY, died at Health Alliance Hospital in Kingston, NY on January 1, 2021 after a short illness. Andrew was a long-term patient at the Northeast Center for Brain Injury and Rehabilitation in Lake Katrine, NY. Injured in a car accident weeks before his high school graduation in 1990, Andrew had been hospitalized for thirty years.
Born in Queens, NY on July 21, 1971 to Natalie Maria (Douthit) and Norman Leon Levendos, Andrew grew up in Goshen, NY and graduated from Goshen Central High School. Andrew is survived by his parents who live in Ellenville, NY; two sisters, Carrie (Larry) Mase of Hope, ME and Jennifer (Bryan) Bonitz of Ellenville, NY; a brother, Chris (Nicole) Levendos of Scarsdale, NY and sixteen nieces and nephews.
If Andrew's life can offer benefit and inspiration to others it is not to simply repeat the notion of how precious life and good health are but to hear it and act upon it. Make use of every moment and ability you have and waste nothing.
Spending thirty years of his young life in various hospitals across three states, Natalie and Norman were devoted and tireless towards ensuring Andrew's comfort. The family is grateful for the support of close friends and family throughout. Andrew's family wish to thank the entire staff at the Northeast Center for Brain Injury and Rehabilitation for their many years of care and dedication to his well-being. Similarly, the family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ashanti Storts, Malaika Saunders, Cristal Saunders, Catherine Destefano, Ashley Zaremsky, Joan Freehill for their time, love and support of Andrew; and a salute to the late Paul Warner for his sincere and thoughtful communication with Andrew over many years.
Due to COVID-19, funeral services will be limited to immediate family. Andrew will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery in Goshen, NY. The family hopes to have a memorial service in July of 2021 when Andrew would have turned 50
