..I loved Sherm with all my heart..He was my position coach when I played football for Newburgh Free Academy...He taught me the game as it should be played, and taught me how to conquer fear and move forward. I've fallen back many times on the lessons I have learned from him, and conquered fears again over the years..Sherm was very tough, he was demanding, he never wavered..And it was always to bring out the best in us, to find our limits, and push us beyond..That if we wanted victory, we had to work for it. I'll always be honored to have played for Sherm, to have had him as a coach, and of my association with him. He had a great heart, and he loved us all. My heart is broken suffering his loss..He was my coach..He was my friend..I'll always love him..I'll miss him forever...Farewell coach! Till we meet again..
