Thank you, Dad, for your service to our country, our town, our church, but mostly for always being so supportive to your family. To say that you are missed is an understatement as many aspects of daily life remind us of you. To know that you are now at peace is reassuring; you are reunited with Mom and family in a place even more beautiful than your home. May God continue to bless you. Here's hoping you'll be our guardian angel until we meet again.

Our deepest sympathy to the Gates Family We had the good luck to know Bill for almost 40 years. He never hesitated to share information with us and we have a few paintings in our collection that came from him. He had a "great eye" and a keen sense for listening. We started to call him a few times within these last months, but for one reason or another, never got around to finishing the call. That is a regret that we'll always have. Bill was one of the last great old timers, truly a gentleman, and he will be dearly missed.

My sincere sympathy to Bill's family. You were very fortunate to have him as a father. He was at the head of the line of the Great Generation. I spent countless hours talking to him at Dutch's store about antiques and life in general. He always had a funny story or spoke of his experiences as a CO. I would see him at every antique auction standing quietly in the back and watching what sold. He taught me a great deal about antiques and life in general. He was the epitome of a gentleman and will be greatly missed by many. Sincerely, Bill Sprague

We will forever remember our grandfather as a genuine exemplar of the greatest generation, a resolute patriarch who gave so much to so many, and a grandfather who regularly dispensed wisdom and extolled the virtues that he saw in others, while often downplaying the heroism he demonstrated throughout his life. Thank you for all the good you have done for our family, community, state, and nation; you will be deeply missed, but the lessons we have learned from you will live on.
