Shirley R. Messenger passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Middletown, NY. She was 92.
She was born February 11, 1926 in Middletown, NY, the daughter of the late Arthur Lee Bagley and S. Frances Drew Bagley.
She married Burton Messenger on May 2, 1946.
She was a Member of the Goshen United Methodist Church, and was a proud volunteer at Arden Hill Hospital, Goshen, New York for over 20 years.
She is survived by her son Michael Messenger of Goshen, NY, her daughters Nancy Miller of Goshen, NY, Cathie Messenger of Goshen, NY, and Mary Petrick of Middletown, NY.
She is also survived by her grandson Scott Miller and his wife Amie of New Hampton, NY, granddaughters Laura Miller of Goshen, NY, Christina Petrick and Sarah Petrick of Middletown, NY, and her great granddaughters Hunter Marie Miller and Madison Ashley Miller of New Hampton, NY. Also surviving is her foster grandson Charles Ricciotti and his wife Catherine of Goshen, NY and her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband Burton Messenger in 2001, her brothers William Bagley and Gordon Bagley and her sisters Eleanor Lounsbury, Marion Springstead and Lillian Swope.
At her request, there will be no visitation. Graveside services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
