Obituary of Maria J. Quick

Maria J. Quick, 65, of Goshen, entered into rest on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Valley View Center, Goshen, NY.
Maria was born May 17, 1953 in Amityville, NY, the daughter of Elio Scala and Ellen (Borland) Scala. Maria graduated from Adelphi University and continued her education at Hofstra University where she completed her Master's degree in education. She worked as a teacher. To Maria family was most important to her, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Quick and wife Fallon; her daughter, Jenna Quick; grandchildren, Rhyan and Beau Quick; two brothers, William Constantine and wife Irene and Nicholas Scala and wife Tina; sister, Ellen Schlingheyde and husband Doug and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 9 from 5-8 pm at the Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
A Funeral Mass will be held 9:00 am on Friday, August 10, 2018 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 71 Murray Ave, Goshen, NY.
Burial will follow in Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, New York.
The family is grateful and wishes to thank the staff at Valley View nursing home for the care of Maria during her illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Maria's name to Valley View Center, Glenmere Cove Road, Goshen, NY 10924.
