To the entire Palmer family,
I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom.
There are so many memories flashing through my mind from first meeting and becoming fast friends with John in Mrs Carmen's kindergarten class in the basement of the brown church on the corner of Main & Maple nearly sixty years ago. Through our years at St Columba grammar school and your mom being a big part of the Mother's Club with the 25¢ hot lunches. How everyone in the crowded noisy basement lunchroom of that tiny little place "loved" the chicken-a-la-king. To the many visits to your home; the go-karts, trampoline, sleigh riding down the big hill which all but once was a great rush of an experience. Your mom didn't even flip out all too much after experiencing what it was like to go face first through quarter inch ice crust on top of snow after getting ejected from a metal snow disc. Your mom calling mine to say it wasn't really as bad as it looked. {LOL}. To the times of perchance meeting your mom out and about Chester as the years went by knowing there was never a time when she didn't have a smile as big as the happy warm words of greeting you. To her coming to pay final respects during our family's time of grieving a few years ago which meant so much.
In time your grief will pass to be replaced by millions of warm loving memories leaving you unable to remain straight faced and even cause you at times to laugh out loud. Whether in a crowd or all alone the smile or sudden laughter will happen. May that transition time be brief. Your mom, more than anyone else wouldn't want it any other way.

Dear Palmer family:
I so looked forward to seeing Edie at mass at St. Columba. The family has been so good to me over the years starting with her husband providing the Chester Chipmunks with a flatbed truck and driver that allowed us to participate in Chester's Memorial Day parade. I also loved that I would meet her at the restaurants the her sons took her too often. Her many friends will miss her. She always had a smile and made you feel like you were part of her family. She will always have a special place in my heart. I am sure the Lord welcomed her to his home.
