Dear Maureen and family,
God blessed us when he crossed our path with Bob's and yours. He was a very special man and we found many things to talk about. How excited he was when I told him my nephew graduated Cortland. We will miss his wonderful sense of humor, his dignity and grace. He showed unremarkable courage when facing his illness and that helped us find strength to deal with our own situation. May he rest in peace, be in the Glory of God's kingdom and loving every moment of his new journey. May your hearts fill to overflowing with the good memories he left each of you..God Bless you all. With Hugs, Wendy and Dave, Pine Island NY

To Maureen & Family~
I am so terribly sorry to hear of the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. Bob was an accomplished educator, and devoted father and grandfather.
I sincerely appreciated his interest in and and encouragement for my program at JCB. On a more personal level, you made such a wonderful couple, and shared your special humor with all of us at Moulton's parties.
This must be such a difficult time--may the good memories sustain you.

So very sorry to hear this news. I worked with Bob at OCC where we started the summer school project. We filled OCC's Academic building with local students for summer school classes and we had a great time. We also had horses in common, he introduced me to one of my favorite breeds, the Friesian. A most noble breed....as was Bob. I missed him when I left that department and I talk about him often. My heartfelt sympathy to his wife and family. So very very sorry.

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Bob. We were hopeful after his long fight against cancer that he was winning the battle. We know he fought hard,as he did his best in all he undertook.
I had the pleasure to work for many years for Dr. J and learned so much from these experiences. He was a very caring and forthright man and educator. He positively touched the lives of the students and staff who he served for many years.
Our deepest sympathy to the family. He will be greatly missed. He suffered much and hopefully he is now at peace.

Robert was the man who brought me to Phoenix, New York as his Assistant Superintendent in 1983. He, his family, and mine became very close over the years, and his strength, knowledge, persistence, and goodness were qualities I admired most in his presence. Loved his family...Maureen, Jeff, and Kristin were fun to be around, and made me feel at home from the moment we met them. We went through a lot together during his 13 years in Phoenix as their Superintendent, and was instrumental in preparing me to advance my career when I took over from him in 1993-2004 as His successor. Ann , Meredith, and I are very sad to lose him. He was one of a kind and I loved him as a brother I never had. That kind of says it all....

I would like to express my condolences to the family of Dr. Johnson. He hired me in 1983 for a temporary position at Emerson J. Dillon School and J. C. Birdlebough High School. Then he rehired me in 1985 to teach at JCB where I taught for 24 years and retired in 2007. Dr. Johnson helped me move forward with the Phoenix School Board and the New York State Board of Regents when I presented him with a copy of my plan to teach a film class as an English Elective. Back then Dr. Johnson knew it would be a good idea for students in the district to get a different perspective and connection of films and literature. For his insight, I will always be grateful for having the insight for his faculty to try new things to help the students of Phoenix.
Sincerely,
Carl Libertone
