Goshen, NY
Lynne Joyce Lake, 69, of Goshen, NY died Sunday, November 21, 2010 at home in Goshen.
Lynne was born July 5, 1941 in Engelwood, NJ, the daughter of Lester and Evelyn (Nelson) Walters.
Lynne was a graduate of Pascack Valley High School in 1959. She was captain of her cheerleading squad and an avid softball player. She loved horses and spent many years raising and caring for them on her thoroughbred horse farm. Family and friends knew her for her sports enthusiasm and for always rooting for the NY Giants and NY Yankees. Her love of cooking, yoga, animals and gardening was always admired by her family and friends. She found great pleasure in spending her summers at Cape Pond and her winters in Boynton Beach, Florida. She attended St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in Boynton Beach, FL and St. James Episcopal Church in Goshen.
Lynne is survived by her son, Timothy McSpirit and his wife, Dawn of Slate Hill, NY; 2 daughters, Dora McBride and her fiance Paul Smith of Goshen and Susan McSpirit and her partner Chuck Gardner of Boynton Beach, FL; 2 brothers, Lester Walters and wife Rosanne of Monroe and Alvin Walters and wife Pat of Cape Pond in Ellenville; sister, Lydee DeLeeuw and husband Neal of Grant, FL; 4 grandchildren, Michaela, Jake, Hallory and Jillian and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, November 26 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc, 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY.
The funeral will be held 8:30 pm on Friday, November 26 at Donovan Funeral Home, Inc., 82 South Church Street, Goshen, NY with Father Carl Lunden officiating.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
